The Gaz Whelan Interview – the Happy Mondays’ drummer, Love & The Family Tree frontman and solo artist speaks with Nigel Carr in this revealing interview for Louder Than War!
Gary Whelan joined brothers Shaun and Paul Ryder alongside Paul Davis and Mark Day to form the first incarnation of Happy Mondays in 1980. Mark ‘Bez’ Berry joined soon after when Shaun saw him dancing to the band and invited him up on stage. Apart from getting back on the road with The Mondays after the tragic death of Paul Ryder in July this year, Gaz his playing a number of shows in November. He’ll be playing mostly band compositions rearranged for the acoustic/electric guitar.
